About Dr. Pautz

Dr. Pautz

What is the Persephone Healing Arts Center and its unique Integrative, Conventional and Anthroposophic Medical Services all about?

At Persephone Healing Arts Center, an innovative approach to health and wellness flourishes under the expertise of Dr. A. Schaeffer-Pautz, M.D. The Center merges integrative, holistic, conventional and anthroposophic medical treatments along with a range of spa services to provide comprehensive care. From managing chronic illnesses such as high cholesterol, diabetes and autoimmune diseases to offering natural pain treatments and specialized care for conditions like ALS and autism spectrum disorders, Schaeffer-Pautz’s integrative methods are transforming lives.

“We see health holistically,” says Schaeffer-Pautz, who is board certified in Integrative and Internal Medicine. “Our goal is not just to treat, but to educate and empower our patients in their journey towards wellness.” This commitment extends to the Center’s spa, where treatments complement the therapeutic offerings, promoting relaxation and detoxification.

Prospective patients are invited to explore these services during the next Open House from 6 to 7 p.m. on both June 5 and 20, 2024. These events provide an invaluable opportunity to meet the doctor and her staff, learn about the Center’s philosophy and discuss how a blend of holistic and traditional medicine can enhance overall health and well-being.

There is a light in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain. Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.- Mother Teresa

Meet our Artists that contributed to our website and allowed us to use their art work.

Here are SOME of our contributors that helped towards enriching this website. These are a few we name, and TONS more in the background that helped with corrections and pic choices and tech support. Thank you all!!!!

Mary Southard

Artist and Painter and Sculpturer

Mary Southard, a Sister of St. Joseph, is an artist whose Paintings reflect her close connection to and love for the Natural World and what it is to be a participant in this magnificent Universe. Her paintings and sculptures explore and give expression to our soul journey within this intimate, interconnected Sacred Community of life, with all its beauty and pain, its passion and mystery.
Through a yearly Art/Reflection Calendar, which she began in 1979 until the present, Mary’s work brings into consciousness the Oneness of All Creation, and of the importance of all our actions and choices affecting the health or diminishment of Earth, our common home. She was co-founder of the Ecological Spirituality Center in the 1980’s (now The Well) in La Grange Pk. IL, and was Co-Founder of Spiritearth with John Surette SJ in 1990.
Her experience as educator, retreat director, and group facilitator has taken her to places here in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia, where her delight is to be with others as they awaken to our Cosmic Story of the Origin and Nature of the Universe, and the power of their own creativity as participants within it. She lives and has her studio in La Grange Park, Illinois.

Our Artists

Artists, Paintings, Therapeutic and Intuitively guided. To help us with the imaginary realm.

Gratitude to several artists that have allowed us to use their art work for our new website.
Rebekah Kiser, AI Persephone picture. We have used it for different occasions. etc.
Leif Garbish. Art Photography. Many of his pics are in the "Art Therapy" section. We also have used it on YouTube and Leif gave us permission to use his pictures as we see fit. His photography looks like water coloring. He gets this effect with filters. The colors are similar to how we would create anthroposophic art therapy. And Leif is involved with this type of work.
Mary Southard, with Ministry of the Arts. Those who know me know that I am absolutely in love with her work. The picture to the right is one of her many creations. Wonder and courage are expressed here.
Dana Peacher, Firefly and Dusty Duck. These are children books she published in the past. She is currently working on more children books.
Julie Konyha, New Mexico artist. Creates beautiful children books with beautiful playful fantasy rich nurturing illustrations.
Sheena Beverly Cameron, New Mexico artist. Known in area and afar for her unique sculptures of horses.

How we chose some of the pictures on our website

Picture choice

We have had several artists that have allowed us to use their art work. Several we mentioned already on Facebook but also in our newsletters in the past months.
You may wonder: Why so many pictures?
The emotional expressions captured in Mary Southard's artwork is so profound, it puts into color and motion and expression of what I am trying to do in some of my counseling work. MOTA (ministry of the arts) has given us permission to use her art work on our website and also Facebook site and other.
Leif Garbisch's photography work, he captures color in a way that is so unique. You can tell by his photography he sees more than just the ordinary. And he brings it into the physical picture, the photography. So profound.
And then we came across Pixabay. These are free downloadable pictures. And you can change them within their ethics code. Quite a community of artists from all over the world is contributing towards the choices.
I came across this particular artist on pixabay. He or she has created these colored pictures of mainly female faces. The expression is so deep. Again, it just so much goes hand in hand with the counseling I provide to some of my patients, the Walsh protocol and its applications. We have used several of his/her pictures on our website, in particular in the counseling chapter, the Walsh protocol chapter, the Children's corner, etc. So profound. So I have a couple of his/her pictures for our March open house graphics. I am trying to introduce bits and pieces of what will be on our new website. And why I chose those. Again, the faces that Chenspec chose and the colors and certain things around it are so well done, I have used several of them for the counseling chapters. Thank you Chenspec, whoever you are.
