Dr. Pautz has completed a practitioner training with the Walsh Research Institute (“Mastering Brain Chemistry”) in developing individualized nutrient therapies for neurotransmitter synthesis.
This may help some people with emotional imbalances such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and also more serious psychiatric disorders. It has also been helpful in some children with aggressive behavior or oppositional defiant disorders. Dr. Pautz is super excited about adding this tool to her toolbox.

- Dr. Pautz is also working some of her patients up for the Walsh protocol (Walsh Research Institute). The Walsh protocol is geared towards balancing metals (zinc and copper mainly) that support brain chemistry and neurotransmission. This therefore may help balance emotional states of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, emotionally traumatic life experiences, PTSD, autism and other. There is a continued spectrum of where this is also branching out into dementias such as Alzheimer’s, neurodegenerative illnesses such as Multiple Sclerosis, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), and others. This work also has been helpful in children with behavior problems, including violent behavior. The earlier this is addressed, the more helpful it can be in some cases. There is overlap into postpartum depression, anxiety and postpartum psychosis. There is overlap into some conventional medical issues such as hypertension, and many others, where stress can drive and make the physical illness worse. Dr. Pautz has witnessed where blood pressure medicine for instance was able to be reduced by addressing some imbalances through the Walsh work up. So addressing the neurotransmitter balance through specific but simple “nutrients” may help directly or indirectly harmonize aspects of physical illnesses or physical challenges. Because we are all intertwined spiritual, emotional and physical beings, this makes sense. It is one of the most incredible things Dr. Pautz has come across in her medical career and frankly, in her life.
